Colleen Oakley: Biography
Colleen Oakley received huge appreciation from all directions for her debut novel, ‘Before I Go’. Colleen started her career as a journalist and it was not a long planned one. Colleen’s hatred towards a journalist on the television made her to become a professional journalist.
The articles and essays that she wrote, after becoming a journalist got published in various newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, Ladies’ Home Journal, Marie Claire, Women’s Health, Redbook, Parade and Martha Stewart Wedding.
The response received for Colleen’s articles and essays made her write her first novel, ‘Before I Go’. Colleen’s debut novel became a huge success. In Jan 2015, the novel was picked as People Magazine’s Best New Book and various other recognitions including an US Weekly ‘Must Pick’, a publishers Lunch Buzz Book, a Jan 2015 Indie Next List Pick.
Through this novel, Colleen has definitely created an emotional connect between her characters and readers. Although the climax of the story can be predicted, still the readers feel hooked to the book.
Highly talented and emerging author Colleen Oakley lives in Atlanta with her husband, two children and a huge dog named Bailey. Colleen who is very much passionate about reading and writing is working on her second novel, ‘Close enough to touch’ which is expected to be published soon.
