Gabrielle Zevin has always had a passion for bookstores and for writing. Ever since she was a child she loved the atmosphere and the soothing feeling that nothing bad ever happened in a bookstore. It was in a bookstore she spent her first 5$ back in 1982, it was in a bookstore she passed time while her mother was shopping for groceries, it is in the bookstores she has achieved her success as a writer and of course she eventually had to write a book about bookstores as she did with The Storied Life Of A.J. Fikry .

It was an angry letter about a Guns and Roses concert that started Gabrielle Zevins career. She sent the letter to a local newspaper and after that she got hired as a music critic. Gabrielle Zevin has since written several novels for adults and young teens. Her debut novel Margarettown was a selection of the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers program. Gabrielle Zevins best know novel for young adults Elsewhere has been nominated for a Quill award and is on the American Library Association’s list of notable children’s books.

Besides her Novels Gabrielle Zevin is the screenwriter of Conversations with Other Women (Helena Bonham Carter, Aaron Eckhart) for which she received an Independent Spirit Award Nomination

Gabrielle Zevin is a Harvard graduate with a degree in English and American literature. She was born in New York but has recently moved to Los Angeles.
