Kathryn Croft: Biography

Kathryn Croft

Kathryn Croft is a British author who has written four novels, all of which are thrillers. She was born in Watford, UK, but moved to Guildford when she was a young girl. She has a BA in Media Arts and English Literature. After graduating, went to work in human resources and then in management training. Her passion for the written word meant that she deicide to retrain and went back to university to obtain her teaching qualification. After 6 years teaching English at secondary school level, she left to write full time.

The first two books she wrote, Behind Closed Doors and The Stranger Within, achieved the top spot on the psychological thriller charts. Her third novel, The Girl With No Past, spent more than 4 weeks at the top of the Amazon chart.

Croft has quoted Donna Tartt and Nicci French as authors which she admires and respects. She loves reading psychological thrillers herself and it was this passion which made her want to write one herself. Although she is at the beginning of her career, she has had 4 books published within the space of two years and is already being likened to authors such as Nicci French, Gillian Flynn, Sophie Hannah and Elizabeth Haynes.

Kathryn Croft now lives in Surrey in the United Kingdom with her husband and their baby son and two cats. Since she gave up her career as a teacher, she now writes full time and is currently working on her latest novel.
