Lara Adrian

Lara Adrian is the pen name of, Tina St John, the name under which she writes an extremely successful series of vampire romance novels. Adrian was born in Michigan, USA and is a direct descendent of William Bradford, a passenger on the Mayflower ship. She used to work in corporate administration but gave up her career in order to write novels full time in 1995. It wasn’t until 3 years later that she sold her first manuscript to Ballantine in 1998. All of her vampire novels, the Midnight Breed series, are published under the pseudonym of Lara Adrian, although her historical romance novels were published under her own name. These books are now out of print but have been re-released by the author as ebooks.

Adrian’s first novel, Kiss of Midnight, was the Borders Books bestselling debut romance novel in 2007. In the same year, another of her books, Midnight Awakening, was one of Amazon’s Top 10 Romances. She has more than 4 million books in print and downloaded digitally all across the world, with licensed sales in more than 20 different countries. Kiss of Midnight is the first of 15 novels in the Midnight Breed series.

Anne Rice and Bram Stoker have both been quoted as influences on Adrian’s writing. Her novels bring together two of the strongest human emotions: fear and desire. It is the combination of these two forces within writing which inspires and fuels Lara Adrian’s vampire romance novels.

Although she was born in Michigan, Lara Adrian now lives in New England with her husband.
