Lisa de Jong is a bestselling author of contemporary romance novels. She enjoys reading and has taken inspiration from other romance authors she has read and enjoyed, including Tarryn Fisher, Colleen Hoover and Katja Millay. She is a keen music enthusiast and also claims that Taylor Swift has had a great influence on her writing.
Her debut novel, When it Rains, was first published in September 2013. It forms the first part of a three-part series known as the Rains trilogy. It is the story of a woman who is completely in love with her best friend, Beau. They have grown up together and he was her first ever crush, but as the book begins something has changed in their relationship. As Beau leaves home to go to college, she thinks that her world is about to collapse around her. That is, until Asher Hunt comes on the scene. His deep, dark eyes and his self-assurance draw her in despite all of the warnings of her friends. The second and third books in the trilogy, Changing Forever and Living With Regret, follow on from this debut.
Lisa de Jong is married and lives with her husband and children in the Midwest. She works full time crunching numbers, but spends her evenings and weekends writing romance novels. As a wife and mother with a full-time job, she has admitted many times that her novels are the products of copious amounts of coffee and many sleepless nights. When she gets any spare time at all, she enjoys spending it reading, listening to music and watching football.
