Nora Roberts (b. Eleanor Marie Robertson) is one the most popular and bestselling American authors. She has written more than 165 novels with a whole 39 debuting in the number one spot. More than 300 million copies of her books are in print, sold in more than 35 countries
Nora Robert was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and is the only daughter and youngest of five children. She is of Irish decent, since both her parents have Irish ancestors. She has been married two times, first with Ronald Aufem-Brinke whom she met in high school. They have two children, Dan and Jason.
She met her second husband, Bruce Wilder, when hiring him as a carpenter to build new bookshelves. They now own a bookstore together and whether Bruce builds the shelves for that we don’t know.
Nora Roberts began writing a cold winter in 1979. She had always enjoyed making up stories and reading. When a blizzard forced her to stay indoors, she grab a pencil and a notebook and began writing. Her first book, Irish Thoroughbred got published in 1981.
