Regine Deforges

Régine Deforges was born on august 15 in Montmorillon.

She began her career as a journalist and a liberal publisher of erotic literature, which were confiscated as pornographic. In 1976 she debuted with the novel Blanche et Lucie, but is first and foremost known for the bestseller The blue Bicycle.

The novels became very popular, but caused a lawsuit from the heirs of Margareth Mitchell, who claimed that Regine Deforges had stolen the idea from Gone with the Wind - But the Judges were not convinced.
